Singing the Arabic letters
Good practice with vowels (video 1)
Good practice with vowels (video 2)
Note that our Noorania method at Salam differs slightly from the videos listed below. Ask your teacher on how the class's method is different. Some examples are:
Shaddah at Salam is recognized as Sukkon and Harakah instead of Shaddah and Harakah
Small letters are recognized as regular letters, for example: alif saghira (small) is just read alif
The procedure of reading letters is different when there is a Sukkon after a letter. Instead of going Letter-Harakah-Letter-Sukkon, we say Letter-Letter-Harakah-Sukkon
In Arabic, whenever you stop at a word, you do not say the last Harakah (vowel.) This is especially true when reading Quran. Towards the end of Noorania lessons, students practice reading words found before "End of Ayah" symbols. The pronunciation of these words should change. This video shows how these words will sound like before "End of Ayah". It is advised that students pause the video, spell the word as-if there is no "End of Ayah", and then try to figure out how the word will sound after taking "End of Ayah" into account. Afterwards, they can play the video and compare the results, and then stop for the next word and repeat.
Check out the Qaidah Nouraniah booklet in PDF format. We would like to note that our sessions revolve around this edition of the Qaidah Nouraniah booklet, and all of this might not have been possible without it. So we kindly request that you make Duaa' for the people who worked on it and made it available for us to benefit from. May Allah accept their good deeds and grant them the highest levels of Jannah. Amen.
